Third wave of flood in Assam hits over 22 lakh people

In Assam, over 22 lakh people are submerged in the third wave of floods in the state though the situation has improved slightly.

One person lost his life today taking the total death tolls to 103. Goalpara, Dhubri, Barpeta are among the worst-affected districts. Over one lakh hectares of crop areas are also marooned.
 
45 thousand people are taking shelter at government run relief camps. Relief measures are being intensified at flood affected districts by the administration. Rice, pulses, mustard oil, salt and drinking water are being given regularly.
